Marie Louise de Villiers Hamman was born in 1952. She graduated with BA Fine Arts degree in the seventies. Majoring in painting, she wasn’t a follower of conceptual installation art. What she found inspiring was the etching plates, after using them to transfer the image onto fabriano paper. She rather exhibited the plates itself as a work of art than the etching prints.
